How Marion Animal Resource Connection Makes a Difference in the Community
Marion Animal Resource Connection is a non-profit organization made up of volunteer citizens. The organization works to assist people and animals to live more humanely in Marion County and ease the social burden of stray dogs and cats.
MARC is not a shelter — they are a resource that works with animal groups and Marion County residents to find safe families for unwanted dogs and cats. On the organization’s website, you can find detailed information about adopting and fostering, as well as applications for both. The website also provides resources for surrendering a dog, reporting a lost pet, and reclaiming a pet.
The organization provides a variety of education and resources for children and adults to learn about humanely caring for animals. MARC can also connect people with affordable spay and neuter procedures and works with county and town governments to prevent the needless killing of impounded dogs and cats.
MARC looks for volunteers to help out by playing with animals and caring for them. Those interested can contact MARC at (423) 240-9074 or marc4change@hotmail.com. Any donations to the organization are used for items such as dog houses, dog and cat food, collars, leashes, crates, and more.
If you would like to see updates about adoptable animals, lost pets in the community, and ways to get involved, stay tuned to MARC’s Facebook page. Learn more about the organization on its website.
