Big Bad Breakfast Opens Inside Lodge Cast Iron Museum
Located inside the iconic Lodge Cast Iron Foundry and Museum, Big Bad Breakfast recently opened in South Pittsburg. The restaurant, owned by award-winning chef and restaurateur John Currence, offers food full of inspiration and energy.
On the menu, you’ll find house-cured Tabasco brown sugar bacon, southern-fried chicken, Beaverdam Creek Farm grits, and even a specialty cornbread omelet to honor the National Cornbread Festival.
The restaurant founder believes breakfast is the most important meal of the day, displayed by its extensive, hearty menu. A few of its menu categories include omelets, skillets, lean plates, pancakes and waffles, and a kids menu. If you’re not in the mood for breakfast, the restaurant also serves salads, sandwiches, and wraps.
Big Bad Cold Brew, a popular menu item made in-store, is a cold concentrated extract of a blend of New Orleans chicory coffee and Big Bad Breakfast’s dark roast. The restaurant also offers fresh squeezed juices, cocktails, and various coffee options.
This South Pittsburg Big Bad Breakfast is the fifth location in Tennessee, and the 15th location in the country. The restaurant’s hours are daily from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
After eating breakfast, you can visit the Lodge Cast Iron Museum where you’ll learn about the cookware’s history, production, and how it played a role in food culture. Don’t miss out on seeing the world’s largest cast iron skillet at over 18 feet from handle to handle and 14,360 pounds, making it big enough to fry 650 eggs!
