Phase II Groundbreaking at Chattanooga State's Kimball Site
I am excited about the groundbreaking at Kimball today! Phase II will allow Chattanooga State to offer Engineering courses for the first time at the Kimball Site. They will also be able to move their Welding and Industrial Maintenance programs to the new building.
All of this training at the Kimball site provides educational opportunities locally and enables students to take classes in their home county.
This also provides our county with a larger pool of a more skilled workforce for the industries in our county and meets the employment needs for our local industries. Many of Kimball’s Chattanooga State Welding and Industrial Maintenance graduates are already working in area industries such as Valmont and TN Galvanizing.
I am so grateful that Marion County and the State could secure funds for Chattanooga State to build Phase II at the Marion County Regional Institute of Higher Education. I look forward to future expansions!
