Marion County Airport Undergoes Major Renovations
The Marion County Airport, located in Jasper, TN, recently underwent major renovations, making it more comfortable and functional for travelers and airport employees.
According to Marion County Airport manager Bill Neal, the inside and outside of the airport was upgraded. A remodeled lobby with new furniture adds comfort and a welcoming feel for guests. The airport’s 50-year-old hangar received new skin, restoring its previously rusty appearance.
A new roof was added to the airport, which fixed a leaking issue. The sewer system was completely upgraded. An extra room in the airport will be turned into a conference room and is awaiting furniture before it can be completed. Additionally, renovations are underway for a room to be turned into a pilot lounge. This room will give pilots a comfortable place to relax while waiting for their next flight.
Outside of the airport, landscaping is planned to make the area look welcoming and pleasing to the eye.
Airport manager Neal said the Marion County Commission and county mayor David Jacksonwere a tremendous part of making the renovations a success. The Marion County Airport staff isexcited for visitors to see and enjoy these major improvements.
