Those 70+ Can Make Appointments for COVID-19 Vaccine

Important Announcement!

We have just received word forms the Tennessee State Health Department that starting today, February 1, for those who live in Marion County, ages 70+ can now make an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine. The phone numbers at the health department are 423-942-2238, 423-815-1331 and 423-815-1332 or you can go to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/marion-waiting-list

Those who are eligible only need to register once.

Groups 1a1, 1a2 and 70+ are the only ones that are eligible to be vaccinated at this time. Anyone not in one of these groups or 70+ will be removed from the waiting list, so please do not call the health department unless you are eligible.

Someone from the health department will call you and schedule an appointment. When someone calls to schedule your appointment, it may come from various phone numbers, not always the health department landline.

When you receive a call from the health department, you will NEVER be asked for financial information or your social security number. If they do hang up.

The only information that the health department folks will need will be a phone number to contact you to schedule your appointment. If you've already had your first shot, someone will call you approximately 4 weeks later to schedule an appointment for your second shot. If it’s is a little later than 28 days, that is alright.

If you think you missed your call, or are concerned your contact information may incorrect, call the health department and they will check into it.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact the health department as soon as possible.

With the age being dropped to 70+, there will be a large number of people scheduling appointments, so it may take a few days before you receive a call to schedule your appointment. Please be patient with the folks at the health department - they are working long hours giving the vaccinations, testing, and making calls to schedule the appointments.

Again, if you are 70+, you can register for an appointment for a COVID-10 vaccine. Vaccines are also still available for groups 1a1 and 1a2.
