How to Celebrate 4th of July in Marion County
With the 4th of July right around the corner, Marion County has fun for the whole family to enjoy. If you’re looking for fireworks, competitions, live music, and more - Marion County has it all this holiday weekend.
In Jasper, a kickball tournament sponsored by the Marion County High School cheerleaders will happen on Friday, July 1 at 700 Phillips Ave. On Saturday, July 2 starting at 4 p.m, the second annual “Jasper’s Big Boom” will be held in the same location at Jasper City Park. Hosted by the Town of Jasper, this event will have inflatables, face painting, craft and food vendors, a watermelon eating contest, live music from Jacob Johnson & Friends, free 4th of July t-shirts for children, and more. Fireworks deemed as the “biggest firework show in the valley” will start at 9 p.m.
South Pittsburg’s 4th of July celebration will be hosted by South Pittsburg Parks & Recreation on Monday, July 4. This free event will be at the South Cedar Stage starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be food, drinks, music, and activities for everyone. Attendees can participate in a golf cart parade where the best-dressed cart will win $100, and second place will win $50. At 9 p.m., a fireworks show will start.
