Volunteer Opportunities in Marion County
Looking for ways to give back to your community? Here are just a few ways to get involved locally.
Volunteer work is often seen as a generous act of giving back to the community, but its benefits extend far beyond the surface. For individuals, volunteering has been consistently linked to improved physical and mental health. A study published in BMC Public Health found that volunteering was associated with lower levels of depression, increased life satisfaction, and reduced mortality rates. Meanwhile, volunteers also help organizations in your community. Everyone wins!
Are you ready to get involved in the community, help out an organization, and maybe even make a new friend or two? Here are some ways to get started right here in Marion County.
MARC Marion Animal Resource Connection:
MARC is actively looking for volunteers for shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm. Different shifts, lasting around two hours, need to be covered. Volunteer activities include:

Washing animals’ dishes and putting out fresh water
Walking dogs
Laundry
