Labor Day weekend is coming up! If you’re looking for a way to recognize the holiday over the long weekend, check out these events in Marion County. 

City of Whitwell Labor Day Parade

The City of Whitwell will host their annual Labor Day Parade on Monday, Sept. 4. The parade will begin at 9 a.m., and the lineup will start at 8 a.m. at Landing Zone Grill. This year’s parade will not have a theme, enabling participants to have more creative freedom with parade floats.

Labor Day Concert at Sasquatch Farm

On Saturday, Sept. 2, Sasquatch Farm, a campground and RV park, will host a Labor Day concert featuring the Sequatchie River Band. This free event is family-friendly and open to both campers and non-campers. 

The band will perform at the stage located about a quarter mile down the gravel road from the entrance building. For more information, visit the Facebook Event page.

Miss Whitwell and Miss Labor Day 2023

The Miss Whitwell and Miss Labor Day 2023 pageant will be on Saturday, Sept. 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Whitwell Middle School. The Grand Supreme, or highest score, in the Miss Labor Day competition, will be awarded $250.

The event is hosted by Princesses & Pearls, a semi-glitz pageant system based in the Tennessee Valley. For more information, visit the Facebook Event page.
