Feed Me, Seymour! Marion County 4-H Takes the Stage with Little Shop of Horrors

One weekend only! March 19 to 21 at Jasper Middle School

Get ready, Marion County, a carnivorous plant with big dreams is coming to a stage near you. The Marion County 4-H Performing Arts program is thrilled to present its production of the beloved musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors, playing March 19 to 21 at Jasper Middle School. Doors open at 6:15 PM, and the show runs for approximately 2.5 hours.

A deviously delicious sci-fi musical smash, Little Shop of Horrors was created by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken — the creative duo behind Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin. The show follows Seymour Krelborn, a meek floral assistant who stumbles across a mysterious new breed of plant he names “Audrey II.” This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises Seymour unending fame and fortune — as long as he keeps feeding it blood. Packed with irresistible songs and laugh-out-loud humor, the show has devoured the hearts of theatre-goers for over 30 years and is a crowd-pleaser for all ages.

“This cast features our most talented local students, and they put their whole hearts into this show. Little Shop of Horrors is funny, moving, and a little bit wild — just like our 4-H performers. You don’t want to miss what young people have been working so hard on,” said Wesley Brewer, Director, Marion County 4-H Performing Arts.

Marion County 4-H Performing Arts is celebrating five years of serving as a cornerstone of youth development in our community. The organization offers young people the chance to build confidence, teamwork, and creative skills through the performing arts. This year’s production represents months of dedication from participants ranging in age from middle school through high school, all under the guidance of directors Wesley Brewer and Isaac Blevins, and assistant directors Heather Thompson and Madison Munn.

Please note: This production is rated PG-13 for mild adult humor, language, and dark situations. All ages are welcome. Additionally, please be aware that there are no physical chairs at wheelchair-accessible seats.
